I’m Kiaan, a high school student at Shanghai Community International School in Shanghai. Growing up in an international environment has shaped the way I approach the world profoundly: with fiery curiosity, and a growing tendency to question ideas rather than take them at face value.
I place extensive value on knowledge, especially the kind that grows the way I think. I’m constantly trying to learn new academic and theoretical ideas, whether through reading, discussion, or independent exploration.
I’m particularly drawn to history, as it helps me understand how present systems and beliefs have evolved over time, and why they continue to shape societies today. Alongside this, I enjoy mathematics for the clarity and structure it brings to problem-solving, offering a different but equally important way of thinking.
Outside the classroom, I play tennis and spend copious amounts of time engaging in online debates and conversations that range from politics to philosophy and theology. These discussions often push me to build my own perspectives and weigh several well-put-together arguments against each other.
